Safari Highlights at a Glance
Day-1 - Arusha – Tarangire
You will be picked up from your hotel at 08.00, drive west of Arusha City and on to Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon your first encounter with wildlife, you will have a game viewing drive in the Tarangire famous for its high concentration of Elephants and giant baobab trees. The Tarangire National Park is located between the meadows of Masai Steppe to the south east and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the north and west. It occupies an area of 2,600 square kilometers. The Tarangire River takes over the northern part of Tarangire. The River flows upwards up to when it leaves the corner of the park, in the North West flowing into Lake Burunge. There are a number of wide swamps which dry into green plains during the dry season in the south.
Dinner and overnight at Tarangire View Camp or Similar.
Day-2- Tarangire – Ngorongoro.
Early morning you will have a short game drive in the Tarangire thereafter return to your Camp for breakfast. Drive out of Tarangire National Park and drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands and on to Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing drive. This is the day to spot the Big five, Elephants, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. You will have a packed lunch at a special picnic site. Late afternoon ascent the Crater and drive to the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day-3- Lake Manyara National Park.
You will have a leisurely breakfast thereafter drive out of the Ngorongoro Highlands, descend into the great rift valley and on to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing drives where you will encounter troupes of Baboons. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are another reason to pay a visit to this park. The only kind of their species in the world, they make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season, and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. The alkaline soda of Lake Manyara is home to an incredible array of bird life that thrives on its brackish waters. Pink flamingo stoop and graze by the thousands colourful specks against the grey minerals of the lake shore. Yellow-billed storks swoop and corkscrew on thermal winds rising up from the escarpment, and herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Even reluctant bird-watchers will find something to watch and marvel at within the national park. You will have lunch with a local family. Afternoon depart on a guided cultural tour of Mto Wa Mbu Village.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or Similar.
Day-4- Back to Arusha.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will drive back to Arusha arriving by mid-day or you may want to be dropped at the Arusha Airport for a flight to Zanzibar.
